Jewelry Glue

When I wanted to glue pearls onto a pendant, I used a recommended glue from a clerk/manager at Michaels. The directions said the glue would dry clear, but when I used it, it took the natural luster from the pearls.
Does anyone know what glue works best for gluing pearls so that you keep their natural luster.

That is terrible that the glue you used ruined the pearl finish. Sorry to hear that.
I have never actually glued pearls together however, I have used two different kinds of glue for jewelry making that work beautifully. *(I applied the glue very close to the bead, pearl, finding etc and the adhesive did exactly what is was supposed to do and nothing more.)
Try these out next time: G-S Hypo Cement and/or E-6000
Hope one of these works for you.

E-6000 works for everything. I use it to glue silver to turquoise stones...however, I only use it on the back where needed. I also use it to adhere ribbon to candles as wraps etc.

whenever working with a new glue it's a good idea to carefully read the instructions on the package - many glues can dissolve natural items like pearls

Thank you to the following for the glue suggestions: Elizabeth, GBarD, and Manitoba Blue. Your suggestions were very helpful.
It took me a long time to get into the replies because I haven't learned the system yet. I'll keep at it - this message board is a great idea!
