I just spent 30 mins trying to sync my gypsy.. Will the updates come in an email? Or should I be able to upload them to my gyspy when I download the sync info?

I recommend going over to Provocraft's Gypsy website and message boards to post your question. Get the info straight from the horse's mouth, as it were.
