Our Goal
Michaels is dedicated to developing and maintaining a friendly online craft community. We want our members to feel relaxed and comfortable, to feel free to exchange ideas and inspirations, and to enjoy themselves without disruption. This is a place where all participants share one thing in common: the enjoyment of crafts.

Our Standards
In order to create the environment described above, we've established a set of community standards. We expect all participants on our message boards to act responsibly and to respect our community and its members. Conduct should be guided by common sense, basic etiquette and the rules listed here.

Topics and Language
Conversation on the message boards centers on crafting topics. Non-crafting topics are not appropriate for discussion on the Michaels message boards. Profanity and vulgar language is not acceptable in any Michaels community area. Messages containing inappropriate language will be deleted at the discretion of Michaels, and members who post such items will be prohibited from posting without notice. Please choose your words gently when you post.

Harassment and Flaming
Sometimes, discussions turn into disagreements. Please remember when posting that while it is acceptable to disagree with an idea, it is not acceptable to abuse members who think differently than you do. It is equally unacceptable to abuse administrators who are speaking on behalf of Michaels. Michaels community members are not permitted to harass or flame other members or administrators. Harassment includes, but is not limited to, disparaging remarks or hateful comments based on gender, race, ethnic background or religion. Members who resort to this type of unacceptable behavior will be locked out of our community. If you feel you are being harassed or flamed by another member, please contact Michaels immediately at custhelp@michaels.com.

Advertising and Infringement
Members are not allowed to advertise on the Michaels message boards. A member may answer another member's question about their occupation or business. However, blatant advertising or solicitation of business is not allowed. No commercial messages or solicitations that have not been authorized by Michaels will be permitted on any message board, and will be removed by the administrators. Repeated attempts to post messages that are deemed to be promotional in nature will result in the loss of posting privilages.

Messages discussing or promoting Michaels competitors are not permitted in any Michaels community areas. If you prefer one of our competitors, please feel free to visit their web sites and become a member of their online communities.

Michaels members may not infringe on anyone else's intellectual property rights, including any copyright, trademark, and rights of publicity or other proprietary rights. Please be sure that any work you post, whether written or visual, is your own.

Disruption
Michaels members may not disrupt the flow of conversation on the message boards. Repeated postings of off topic materials or use of images or animation in signatures is not allowed on any Michaels message boards.

Additonal Rules For Michaels Associates
Michaels associates should be aware of the additional rules and restrictions that apply to their activities in all Michaels community areas. If you are unsure about these rules, please contact your store manager or district manager for a copy of the latest memo. Please do not post here until you are familiar with these rules.

Agreement With Rules
By posting in or reading any Michaels message boards, members agree to abide by the rules posted on this page.
